World’s Largest Treehouse Resort Opens in Tennessee

Growing up in the countryside, our backwoods and pastures were my playground. My little brother and I played all day in the trees, climbing them or making a treehouse out of a hollowed-out stump. We begged my dad to build us a treehouse, but that never happened until the grandkids arrived.

Treehouse of my childhood dreams

The treehouse he built looked like a children’s resort. There was a wraparound deck, carpeting, electricity, TV, air conditioning/heating, landscaping, swing and slide. It was crazy. My brother and I just shook our heads. If only we had been lucky enough to have played in a treehouse like the one he built for his grandchildren.

I guess technically we did get a treehouse. We only had to wait for the invitation of our children to be able to play in it.

Treehouse fantasy for adults

My favorite rhythm for traveling is the mountains. I’ll take the mountains over the range, every time. I’ve often thought about what it would be like to have an adult tree house. You know, one like building the treehouse show. Living a grown-up, modernized version, with all the conveniences, of the Swiss Family Robinson life, would be so awesome. I would be in heaven.
