The second season of Westworld premieres April 22, and a Colorado resort is looking to give mega-fans the ultimate themed getaway. Located on the Colorado-Utah border, where much of the series is filmed, Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa offers guests their version of a Wild West theme park through what they call the “Westworld Package”. The option comes with everything from horseback riding and a campfire light dinner; a choice of one of the three Wild West resort activities (pigeon shooting, archery or laser tag); a Native Massage for two at the Spa at Gateway canyons; and thoughtful touches like cigars and ingredients for DIY Moscow Mules and sherry cocktails. It’s likely that the resort itself was started by John Hendricks, the founder and former president of Discovery Channel, as the package is packed with adventure and discovery.
Fans hoping to get a taste of Old West life through the Westworld package will shell out $ 999 per night for a double room and must book a minimum three-night stay between May 1 and September 30, 2018. There are three main types of rooms available, ranging from High end casitas (many of which have fireplaces and separate living rooms on the second floor, as well as outdoor showers and private terraces with fireplaces), Kiva Lodge Rooms (located around the Gateway Canyons clubhouse pool and courtyard), and the Kayenta Lodge Rooms, which offers guests the full spa experience with deep soaking tubs in addition to fireplaces and private patios. Plus, the Connected Ranch offers over 500 acres of horse trails that climb to over 1,500 feet in elevation.
