‘Hans’ down, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is Walt Disney World Resort’s most popular ticket right now.
The highly anticipated Galactic Starcruiser will take guests on a two-night (simulated) journey through a galaxy far, far away. On board the Galactic Starcruiser, guests will be fully immersed in the Star wars history, because every decision they make will shape the outcome of their journey.
A few lucky journalists got a chance to preview the Halcyon ahead of its official launch in March 2022 and revealed startling news about the famous “real” lightsaber.
The Star wars: Galactic Starcruiser has been described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience that Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek has promised to leave guests “blown away”.
Star wars fans were eagerly awaiting to wield what Disney described as a “real” lightsaber, with a lightsaber appearing to light up and expand.
The “real” lightsaber was first unveiled by Disney in April 2021, before making its way onto the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser promotional video.
Now, IGN has reported that this lightsaber will not be sold to guests and is only for cast members. From a special preview event, IGN writes:
“Unfortunately, this lightsaber is not intended for guests to use or purchase. It is strictly for performers.
Disappointed guests will, however, be scheduled for lightsaber training aboard the Halcyon, which will inevitably appeal to all aspiring Jedi:
“The session involves using the lightsabers provided to deflect laser beams fired from a wall mounted training remote. It starts off slow, letting you get a feel for how it works, then builds up to Jedi level where you’re forced to block attacks without even seeing the lasers. The lightsaber used in this activity is on par with a Force FX lightsaber, although it is a bit shorter, but it is only intended for use in lightsaber training and will not be available for sale. .
You can watch the ‘real’ lightsaber in action in the Starcruiser teaser below:
Star Wars: The Galactic Cruiser will have 100 cabins and suites on board and sell out quickly despite its high price tag. Reservations for the two-night experience are full until June 2022.
The high booking rate is not surprising, as this hotel is a one-of-a-kind immersive experience, perfect for Star wars fans of all ages, including the Galaxy’s Edge tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
General reservations will only be available by phone at (407) 939-5271. At the moment, there will be no online reservation option.
