Sandals Royal Curacao’s opening date has been pushed back to June 1 due to global supply chain disruptions, according to Sandals executive chairman Adam Stewart. The resort was scheduled to open on April 14.
“While we are thrilled that Sandals Curacao is nearing completion, our suppliers around the world have been experiencing material shortages and shipping delays. Obstacles beyond our control are certainly frustrating, but we won’t settle for anything. simply no less than the experience we promised and our valued travel advisor partners and clients deserve,” said Stewart.
“Our guests and partners have our word that they will be protected, and we are confident that our first entry to Curacao will be well worth the brief wait.”
Customers affected by the delay can choose to move their next reservation to another Sandals of their choice, rebook their current Sandals Curacao vacation for a later date, or receive a full refund.
Sandals said it will cover any necessary airfare changes up to $600 per person. Additionally, all affected guests will receive a $250 resort credit to use at the Red Lane Spa or Island Routes tours, as well as future stay credits.
Sandals Royal Curacao is the 16th Sandals resort and the first in Curacao.
The resort is located on 44 acres within the Santa Barbara Private Estate, a 3,000-acre protected preserve.
Sandals Royal Curacao will have 351 guest rooms and suites in 24 categories, including two new suite categories: Awa Seaside Butler Bungalows and Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalows, featuring soaking tubs, private plunge pools, complimentary butler and Mini Coopers for guests. while exploring Curacao.
