The family typically spent 10 days to two weeks at a rented beachfront resort, usually on the island’s most secluded western end in the town of Chilmark.
They were often spotted cycling and ventured into town for ice cream and New England food.
They returned for their annual summer trip in August, which was their first as private citizens.
