Being able to explore a new offering at Walt Disney World is always a huge pleasure for Guests. Disney World is already so huge that being able to see Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios often seems like a lot. Then you discover there are over 25 themed resorts all of which are amazing to explore, two water parks, and a shopping and dining district with Disney Springs, and your one-week vacation just isn’t long enough.
Walt Disney has always talked about innovating and making Disneyland feel new. He is infamous for noting that Disneyland will never be complete, and while Walt may not be with us anymore, his sense that things keep changing and evolving has become one of the cornerstones of the parks. Disney around the world. Right now, many Disney World guests are waiting for the reveal of the opening date of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, as well as TRON Lightcycle/Run. But, the most recent addition to Disney was the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which first launched this month.
For star wars fans, one of the most exciting new additions to Walt Disney World Resort has been star wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. After recreating iconic looks like the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing, and bringing characters like Rey, Kylo Ren, Vi Moradi, Chewbacca, Storm Troopers and more to life, star wars fans claimed that Disney knew how to bring the immensely popular franchise built by George Lucas to life.
Passengers can board the Starcruiser and take off in the Halcyon, to experience what Disney has promised will be one of their most immersive experiences yet. Although the experience sounds amazing, it comes at a cost. the star wars: Galactic Starcruiser has been described as a unique and immersive experience that Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek has promised will leave visitors “blown away”.
The price of the flight is almost $6,000 per room, which unfortunately is a cost that has sadly topped many prices. star wars fans, as the tour is only a 2 night adventure. This however includes food costs, accommodation and meals, entertainment and visiting Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and more. Guests will embark on a journey that goes “horribly, horribly wrong”.

The Starcruiser has taken a rough road with some fans, however, for several reasons. When Disney released more promotional material, including new video footage of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, it quickly garnered negative press. Equipment was later removed by Disney, but not in time to prevent some Guests from canceling their reservations. It seems that some guests agreed to forfeit their deposit instead of paying full price for the experience which some considered lackluster.
More material has recently been released with much more engaging editing. Other than that, the ship apparently won’t feature the original trilogy, which many die-hard fans would have loved to see.
Now that the hotel has had several guests, it appears the reviews aren’t as negative as some might have assumed, based on the previous jolt of cancellations for the Starcruiser. Many who love star wars can recognize that while the experience isn’t perfect, it is truly one of a kind and, for some, well worth the cost.
The experience has often been compared to a cruise-style vacation since you pre-pay for your meals, and with such a large and expensive vacation, guests will typically plan months in advance. That being said, the summer months, Halloween months, and Christmas months of the year, which tend to be high season, are still very much available. The ship only has 100 rooms, so many would think they would sell out quickly, but it seems guests are still undecided.
Below we can see that from July to December only 16 days are currently unavailable. This availability is quite different from other Walt Disney World Resorts that are already booking quickly, with much higher starting availability.
