BAY CITY, MI – The Dow Bay Area Family YMCA is soon launching a three-week fitness challenge for families.
The YMCA is preparing to launch the free “Summer Out Loud Challenge” on Monday July 12th. The challenge, which is presented locally by MidMichigan Health, provides guidance and motivation to families who choose to participate. According to the YMCA, participants will receive three texts per week filled with motivation, workouts and fun family activities to try out throughout the challenge. All participating families will receive a free day pass to use at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA any day during the three week challenge to enjoy swimming, exercise, basketball and more Again.
“Our organization is focused on three pillars in everything we do: healthy living, youth development and social responsibility,” said Joslyn Jamrog, Director of Membership and Marketing for the Family YMCA of the Dow Bay Area. “This challenge exemplifies our three pillars and we are thrilled to offer this free challenge with the support of MidMichigan Health to get families in our community moving and having fun together.”
Those interested can register for the free challenge by texting SUMMER to 877-799-6220. After registering via SMS, participants will be prompted to follow the instructions to register for the challenge.
Participating families can visit the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA website at www.ymcabaycity.org to print a Summer Out Loud passport filled with creative ideas and family activities in July. To be eligible for the grand prizes, participants must register for the challenge and complete and return the passport to our Y by Wednesday August 4th.
Active participants will have the chance to win a one-year family membership to the Family YMCA of the Dow Bay Area and the National Grand Prize for a family vacation of their choice (valued up to $ 5,000). The big winner will be announced on Friday August 13th.
