Bahía del Paraíso is the Dorado Beach Resort and Club – DIRT

As the world reopens and humanity begins to return to some semblance of normality after nearly three years in limbo due to the Covid-19 pandemic, travel seems to be on everyone’s mind. Turn on the news these days and you’ll invariably hear reports of crowded airports, overbooked flights and unexpected delays as people rush to embark on long-awaited vacations. Not ready for the real headaches that travel in 2022 brings? Head to Peacock, where you can vacation virtually via the streamer’s new original series “The Resort.” As its name suggests, the time-bending mystery/comedy is set in a tropical destination, against the picturesque backdrop of not one but two dreamy hotels, and is sure to satisfy even the most discerning cinematic viewers’ cinematic wanderlust. !

Although they’re supposed to take place just outside of Cancun, Mexico, the two accommodations that feature at the center of the show are actually about 2,100 miles east of Puerto Rico. The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan, which unfortunately is currently not open to the public, replaces the doomed Oceana Vista, where two young tourists disappeared in 2007 before a hurricane hit. The five-star accommodation was devastated by Hurricane María in 2017 and has since been closed.

But fans can check – and check – the Dorado Beach Resort & Club, the spot that plays the Bahía del Paraíso (translation – Paradise Bay), where Noah (William Jackson Harper) and Emma Reed (Cristin Milioti) head for a week-long all-inclusive getaway to celebrate their 10th anniversary in the current part of the scenario. Sprawling over a magnificent 1,900 acres, the exclusive master-planned golf community/resort/club is nestled against the sands of East and West Beach at 500 Plantation Drive at Dorado, about 15 miles west of San Juan.
